What Happened

Suffolk County Police said a 55-year-old Holbrook man was killed Monday, October 12, 2026, after losing control of a 2007 Yamaha motorcycle he was riding southbound on William Floyd Parkway and striking the driver’s side of a parked 2016 Jeep at approximately 1:20 p.m. The impact ejected him from the motorcycle. He was transported to NYU Langone Hospital – Suffolk in Patchogue, where he was pronounced dead, according to a Suffolk County Police Department press release.

Patch (Shirley-Mastic) and TBR News Media reported, citing police, that the crash occurred near Ridgewood Drive — a cross-street reference not included in the official police release.

The motorcycle was impounded for a safety check, police said.

Patch (Shirley-Mastic) reported that William Floyd Parkway was closed in both directions following the crash and remained shut between Dawn Drive and Flower Hill Drive as of 4:20 p.m., citing police. Patch reported the call for the crash came in at 1:22 p.m., which is two minutes after the approximate 1:20 p.m. crash time stated in the official police press release.
