Deaths by road, 2010–2024: the federal record
From 2010 through 2024, 3,302 people died in crashes on public roads in Nassau and Suffolk counties, according to the federal Fatality Analysis Reporting System. The 17 corridors below account for 1,188 of those deaths (36%); the rest occurred on county, town and village roads.
These are counts of distinct fatal crashes recorded on each road. They are not adjusted for length or traffic volume, so they show where deaths occurred rather than which road is riskiest per mile driven.
