What Happened
Nadeem Ahmad, 50, was killed Wednesday morning, August 26, 2026, after the vehicle he was working on slipped off a jack and pinned him in the driveway of his home, according to a press release from the Suffolk County Police Department. The incident happened at approximately 8:15 a.m.
Ahmad was lying underneath a 2002 Toyota Camry at 34 Tuscala St. when the vehicle became dislodged from the jack. The Camry rolled down the driveway and trapped Ahmad beneath it.
Emergency responders transported Ahmad to Stony Brook University Hospital. He was pronounced dead there, per the Suffolk County Police Department press release.
The Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad is leading the investigation. Police have not yet confirmed whether any additional occupants or bystanders were present at the time.
