What Happened
Damian Walsh, 47, of Farmingville was seriously injured Sunday afternoon, September 7, 2026, when his 2025 Yamaha motorcycle left Country Road 83 southbound near South Bicycle Path in Coram and struck a road sign, according to Long Island Life & Politics, which first reported the incident.
The crash was recorded at approximately 4:10 p.m. Walsh lost control of the motorcycle while traveling south on CR-83. The bike left the roadway and hit the sign before coming to rest off the road.
Suffolk County Police transported Walsh to Stony Brook University Hospital. His injuries were described as serious but non-life-threatening, per Long Island Life & Politics.
The Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad impounded the 2025 Yamaha for a safety check. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Country Road 83, also called Coram-Mount Sinai Road in this stretch, runs north-south through the Coram hamlet of Brookhaven Town.
