What Happened

Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist in West Babylon, according to a department press release.

At approximately 3:50 p.m., a 2011 Toyota traveling northbound on Little East Neck Road attempted a left turn onto Platt Avenue and struck a southbound 2009 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The motorcyclist, a 25-year-old man, was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The Toyota’s driver, a 60-year-old woman, was also taken to the same hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Both vehicles were impounded for a safety check, police said.
