During the week of September 26–October 2, 2026, New York State Police Troop L logged 192 entries in its daily media log covering Long Island’s state parkways, according to the Troop L daily media log. How we measured this
- Records: every entry LIT stored from the State Police Troop L daily media log dated September 26 through October 2. Troop L patrols Long Island’s state parkways and some state routes.
- Categories, roads, statuses and times are the log’s own fields. “DWI entries” are entries in the log’s “Vehicle - DWI” category; “Arrest adult” is the log’s status field.
- Comparison weeks are the four 7-day periods immediately before this one.
- The log lists drivers’ names; Long Island Traffic does not publish them in this report.
Limitations
- An entry is what State Police released in the daily log, not a conviction. A DWI arrest is an accusation until a court decides the case.
- The log covers State Police incidents only. DWI arrests and crashes handled by Nassau or Suffolk County Police, town or village police are not included.
- LIT collects each day’s log once; entries the State Police added or corrected later may be missing.
