Long Island regular gas averages $4.19, down from $4.25 at the same stations

From October 26 to November 1, 2026, regular gas averaged $4.19 across 173 Long Island stations, according to GasBuddy station price reports collected by Long Island Traffic. The median price was also $4.19, the same reports show.

At the 152 stations priced in both this week and October 19–25, 2026, the same-station average was $4.19, compared with $4.25 the week before, according to the GasBuddy reports collected by Long Island Traffic. The cheapest regular price reported was $3.89 at a Mobil at 770 Montauk Hwy in Patchogue, and the most expensive was $5.13 at a Mobil at 390 W Park Ave in Long Beach, the same data show.

Same-station prices fell at 99 stations

The median change at the 152 stations priced in both weeks was -5.5 cents per gallon, according to GasBuddy station price reports collected by Long Island Traffic. The average change at those stations was -5.6 cents per gallon, the same reports show.

Suffolk averaged $4.18 and Nassau averaged $4.20

Suffolk had 98 stations reporting and an average latest price of $4.18, according to GasBuddy station price reports collected by Long Island Traffic. Nassau had 75 stations reporting and an average of $4.20, the same reports show.

The median same-station change was -6 cents in Suffolk and -4 cents in Nassau, according to the GasBuddy data collected by Long Island Traffic.

Commack and Islip had the lowest town averages at $4.10

Among the 17 towns with at least 3 stations reporting, Commack and Islip each averaged $4.10 for regular, according to GasBuddy station price reports collected by Long Island Traffic. Commack had 20 stations reporting and a lowest station price of $3.91, while Islip had 3 stations and a lowest price of $4.05, the same reports show.

Levittown averaged $4.12, and Hicksville and Hempstead each averaged $4.13, according to the GasBuddy data collected by Long Island Traffic.

Garden City had the highest town average at $4.48

Garden City’s 4 reporting stations averaged $4.48 for regular, according to GasBuddy station price reports collected by Long Island Traffic. Great Neck averaged $4.35, Huntington $4.31 and Melville $4.30, the same reports show.

Garden City’s lowest station price was $4.07, according to the GasBuddy data collected by Long Island Traffic.

A 124-cent spread between the cheapest and priciest pumps

The gap between the cheapest and most expensive regular prices this week was 124 cents, according to GasBuddy station price reports collected by Long Island Traffic.

The Mobil at 770 Montauk Hwy in Patchogue reported $3.89 on October 31, the same reports show. A BJ’s at 2 Veterans Memorial Hwy and an Ultra Fuel at 365 Veterans Memorial Hwy, both in Commack, each reported $3.91 on October 31, according to the GasBuddy data collected by Long Island Traffic.

The Mobil at 390 W Park Ave in Long Beach reported $5.13 on October 31, according to GasBuddy station price reports collected by Long Island Traffic. A Mobil at 117 Franklin Ave in Garden City reported $4.99 on October 26, the same reports show.

Diesel averaged $6.48 at the 109 stations with a diesel price report this week, according to GasBuddy station price reports collected by Long Island Traffic.

How we measured this

• Prices: LIT collects GasBuddy’s Long Island station prices twice a day and keeps every reported price. For each station we use its most recent regular price reported between October 26 and November 1 (Eastern).
• Week-over-week change is measured only at stations that also reported a price between October 19 and October 25, comparing each station with itself.
• Town figures include only towns with at least 3 reporting stations. Reports below $1 or above $10 a gallon are discarded as entry errors.

Limitations

• GasBuddy prices are reported by drivers and stations; a price can be hours or days old, and not every station reports every week.
• Averages are simple station averages, not weighted by how much fuel each station sells.
• The table shows the price reported at a station during the week, not a guarantee of the price at the pump today.
