What Happened
A Huntington Station man was taken into custody Tuesday night after crashing his Tesla into a motorcycle on Nicolls Road in Holbrook while allegedly impaired by drugs, leaving the motorcyclist with serious injuries, according to News 12 Long Island.
Bertie Simeon, 37, of Huntington Station, was driving a 2023 Tesla southbound on Nicolls Road at approximately 11 p.m. when he collided with a 2017 Suzuki motorcycle that was also traveling southbound on the same road. The crash took place in the stretch between Greenbelt Parkway and Route 27 in Holbrook. Suffolk County Police said Simeon was high on drugs at the time of the collision and was taken into custody at the scene.
The motorcyclist — a 24-year-old man from Holtsville — was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, according to News 12 Long Island. His name was not released by police.
Sachem Patch reported the collision occurred at approximately 11:15 p.m. and confirmed that the Holtsville man was operating the southbound 2017 Suzuki motorcycle when it collided with Simeon’s southbound 2023 Tesla.
