A Huntington Station man faces a misdemeanor drugged-driving charge after his Tesla slammed into a motorcyclist on Nicolls Road in Holbrook late Tuesday night, sending the rider to the hospital with serious injuries, according to Greater Long Island.
Robert Krumm, 24, of Holtsville was riding a 2017 Suzuki motorcycle southbound on Nicolls Road — between Greenbelt Parkway and Sunrise Highway — when his motorcycle collided with a southbound 2023 Tesla at approximately 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, police said. Krumm was transported by emergency responders to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was treated for serious injuries.
The Tesla driver, identified as Bertie Simeon, 37, of Huntington Station, was uninjured in the crash, per Greater Long Island’s report. Simeon was arrested at the scene and charged with misdemeanor Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs (DWAI/Drugs). Both vehicles — the 2017 Suzuki and the 2023 Tesla — were impounded following the collision for safety checks, police said.
Simeon appeared in court the following morning. According to Greater Long Island, he pleaded not guilty Wednesday at Suffolk First District Court in Central Islip to the misdemeanor DWAI/Drugs charge.
