What Happened
A 23-year-old Huntington Station man was seriously injured Wednesday afternoon after losing control of his electric bike in a parking lot and crashing through the front window of a Huntington restaurant, according to News 12 Long Island.
The 23-year-old Huntington Station resident was operating a 2025 Talaria e-bike in a parking lot on Gerard Street in Huntington at approximately 2:30 p.m., News 12 reports. Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives say the rider lost control of the bike and struck a curb, causing him to be ejected from the vehicle. The force of the ejection sent him directly into the front window of Joanina Ristorante, shattering the glass.
The rider was transported to Huntington Hospital, where he was treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to News 12 Long Island. No additional victims — restaurant patrons or bystanders — were reported injured in the incident.
