What Happened
Allison Rahmani, 40, of Hewlett Bay Park, died Friday after her SUV careened out of control in a residential driveway on Elinor Road, struck a tree and a parked vehicle, and came to rest submerged in a pool, according to News 12 Long Island. The crash occurred just before 9:30 a.m.
Nassau County Police said Rahmani lost control of the vehicle while in the driveway of the Elinor Road home. The SUV struck a tree and a parked vehicle before becoming immersed in the pool, per News 12 Long Island.
Rahmani was removed from the vehicle before officers reached the scene. Responding officers performed life-saving measures on her. She was then transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Nassau police released Rahmani’s identity on Sunday, August 23, 2026. As of Sunday night, the cause of her death remained unknown, News 12 Long Island reported. Police have not stated what caused the loss of control.
