What Happened
Anthony Thompson, 25, of 8 Fawn Place, Mastic Beach, was arrested Sunday afternoon after stabbing a 51-year-old man on West Parkview Drive in Shirley, according to a press release from the Suffolk County Police Department. The stabbing took place at approximately 2:50 p.m. on September 6, 2026.
Thompson and the victim were arguing on West Parkview Drive when Thompson stabbed the man, per the SCPD release. The victim, whose name police have not publicly released, is 51 years old.
The victim was not transported by ambulance. He was taken to NYU Langone Hospital – Suffolk in Patchogue by private vehicle with serious injuries, the Suffolk County Police Department confirmed.
Thompson was arrested and charged with Assault in the First Degree. He was held overnight at the Seventh Precinct following the arrest.
