Why the LIE Backs Up in Suffolk County

Westbound 6–10 a.m. is brutal from the county line east; eastbound 3–8 p.m. and summer Friday afternoons (beach and East End traffic) are the other peaks. East of Exit 64 the road narrows and incidents clear more slowly.
