What Happened
A 20-year-old motorcyclist from Patchogue was killed Saturday morning after his motorcycle collided with a left-turning vehicle at the intersection of Route 112 and Southaven Avenue in Medford, according to a press release from the Suffolk County Police Department. The crash was reported at 6:53 a.m.
The motorcyclist was operating a 2008 Honda motorcycle northbound on Route 112 when it struck a southbound 2016 Toyota Matrix. The Toyota’s driver was attempting a left turn at Southaven Avenue when the collision occurred. Medford emergency responders transported the motorcyclist to Stony Brook University Hospital. He was pronounced dead there. Suffolk County Police have not yet publicly identified the driver of the Toyota Matrix or announced whether that driver sustained injuries.

Suffolk County has seen a busy stretch of serious crashes in the preceding 24 hours.
