What Happened
Hasan Ibrahim, 25, of Brooklyn, died early Saturday morning after his motorcycle struck a concrete barrier on the Franklin D. Roosevelt East River Drive in Lower Manhattan, according to the NYPD via News 12 Long Island. The crash was reported at 2:20 a.m. near the Brooklyn Bridge exit.
Investigators from the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad determined Ibrahim was operating a Honda CBR500R southbound when he failed to navigate the roadway and hit the barrier, News 12 Long Island reported. No other vehicles were identified as involved in the collision.
Emergency medical personnel transported Ibrahim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue. He arrived in critical condition and was later pronounced dead at the hospital, according to News 12 Long Island.

The FDR Drive runs along the eastern edge of Manhattan along the East River. The Brooklyn Bridge exit is in the southernmost stretch of the highway, where the roadway curves toward the Battery.
