What Happened
A 2027 Kia drove into the outer wall of a CVS pharmacy at 1829 Grand Avenue in Baldwin at approximately 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, injuring both the driver and the sole passenger, according to News 12 Long Island. Nassau County Police responded to the scene and confirmed the collision.
The driver, a 64-year-old woman, and her passenger, a 68-year-old man, were transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment, police say. The severity of their injuries was not specified by authorities. No one inside the store was hurt.
Officers arrived to find the Kia had struck the building’s exterior wall. The Town of Hempstead Building Department also responded and, after assessing the structure, declared the CVS building not structurally safe, News 12 Long Island reported.
No cause for the crash had been publicly released as of the News 12 report filed at 5:37 a.m. Thursday, September 3, 2026. Nassau County Police have not announced any charges.
