What Happened
Thieves broke into Nissan 112 on Route 112 in Medford at around 1:30 a.m. Thursday, September 3, 2026, stealing a 2023 BMW X5, then using it as a battering ram to break into the dealership’s showroom and drive off in a 2023 Dodge Charger, according to Suffolk County Police as reported by Patch.
A person or group of people first gained access to the dealership’s interior and located a set of keys for the 2023 BMW X5, per the Patch report filed at 12:49 p.m. Thursday. With the BMW running, they drove it into a 2022 Nissan Versa on the lot. The Versa was propelled into the building, and the impact broke a showroom window.
With the window gone, the thieves entered the showroom and drove out the 2023 Dodge Charger. Police did not specify in their initial release whether the BMW X5 or the 2022 Nissan Versa were recovered, or whether either vehicle sustained disabling damage in the collision.
