What Happened
The Nassau County Police Department’s Special Victims Squad reports the arrest of Borys Barrera-Callejas, 38, of 198 W Nicholai Street, Hicksville, in connection with an incident that occurred on September 3, 2026, in Hicksville.
According to detectives, an investigation revealed that Barrera-Callejas, a registered sex offender, had social media accounts on his phone that he had failed to properly report — a requirement for registered sex offenders. Further investigation allegedly uncovered numerous child pornography files on the same device.
Barrera-Callejas is charged with three counts of Possessing Obscene Sexual Performance by a Child less than 16 and two counts of Sex Offenders Failure to Report Change in Status. He was arraigned on September 4, 2026, at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead. A charge is not a conviction.
